Chapter 3: Parallels
Frost woke up suddenly but not like he had so in the past months, for some reason he woke up leaning over the table next to him, he lifted himself a bit as he looked around. Nebbia was lying on her back completely asleep, she made herself comfortable in the bed that was offered to her. He lifted a bit himself from the table almost expecting some sort of pain from the position, but at the moment he felt rather refreshed, now that he thought of it, it had been the first night in a while that he slept not being awakened from some sort of nightmare or strange event. He stretched even a bit, he felt a bit more of his strength back even as he moved around in his home.
- How strange...- he whispered as he stood up and walked slowly to her, she was still sound asleep. He walked as quietly as he could towards the front door and pushed the door to see outside, it was almost morning as he could see some of the sun coming up from the trees, on top, the sky was no longer dark it started to dye into an orange and blueish tint. He walked out stretched and took a deep breath taking in the morning air, he felt… good. A strange feeling for him. And at that moment his mind started to work, he needed to figure out what to do next with his... visit.
- I might as well… I need to tell them what is happening here – he said to himself as he looked to his door – But… is it safe to leave her by herself here? - he asked himself. As he stood there with his arms crossed he saw Fang coming prancing as usual, he came close and sat in front of him panting almost like a puppy, even when his great size in nature he still behaved like a faithful companion.
- well… maybe? –
After some moment he came into the cabin and as he opened the door he let Fang walk in, he smelled around and gave him a look as he felt like he was intruding into his home, Frost patted him on the head as he got in and closed the door behind them. He then grabbed his gear again and checked on her just before he left. Fang, almost by instinct, slowly walked next to her bed and lay beside her on the wood floor. Frost looked at him and got on his knees – I’ll be home as fast as I can… take care of her, I will be back soon – he said to him hoping he could understand him.
As he left he closed the door behind him and set himself in a quick step towards town, right before he got close to the edge of the pine trees he looked back to his cabin. - I’ll be back soon… need to be quick – he said to himself as he rushed out.
Nebbia did not notice his absence she was so deep in her sleep that she just adjusted herself in the bed as she turned and kept sleeping. Fang looked up to her as he adjusted to the floor, trying to enjoy the warm room away from the cold for once.
***
Beyond the road of the trees after some miles, a stoned road path started to appear slowly, after some little walks the road had some stoned walls where some of the farms started to show up closer to town. As the road came down a valley you could see even up afar homes spread in distant areas but the main downtown was rather big compared to some other places in Winterland, for most of them were just little towns that surrounded a main plaza or a town hall. As you walked closer to the center of the town there was a main town hall where most of the events or town speaks happened around the year, but for now this place remained quiet.
Frost made his way as fast as he could towards there, the sun was coming out and it seemed, to his luck, there was a clear sky with no more snow to worry about, at least for the time being. As he got closer he walked quickly towards the main plaza where some of the buildings were either businesses or stores, there was also a local inn where visitors or passersby came and rested, but because this place was so far away most of the time it remained rather empty. Frost walked down the street and stopped in front of a small building made of wood and stone, it was a two-story building and on the side, it had a sign that said 'hardware'. He stood there for a moment, having even second thoughts about this.
- Frost? - a voice of a woman said right behind him. He turned a bit stunned and found himself in front of an older woman, maybe in her middle age rather shorter than him. She had black hair almost to her back covered under a dark red bandanna and her blue skin was a bit darker than his, she wore a dress and covered herself with a thick shawl that looked knitted. She was rather surprised as she walked closer to him. - my boy, I haven’t seen you in so long… is everything alright? - her tone was sweet and she sounded confused as she passed her hand over his cheek.
- I’m fine Mother – he said as he grabbed her hand gently, she smiled but did not believe him.
- Well I doubt that you’re fine… you look so tired, what happened? - she asked as she looked at him. He tried to answer but he did not know how to start as he held her hand gently.
- Can we go inside? - he asked as he looked around, she smiled and opened the door to the store letting both of them in. While they entered they did not notice someone was looking at them from the other side of the street, a man covered with a hood, he grabbed his attention at the strange event and for some reason decided to stay close.
Meanwhile, back at the cabin it seemed like everything was quiet, Frost had revived the flame from the fireplace just before he left. Fang decided to lay right next to it, making him sleep also in the quiet of the room, but Nebbia on the other hand started to toss and turn in her bed.
- Who are you? - she heard suddenly, she opened her eyes almost in shock, she sat up slowly looking around the cabin, she noticed that Frost was gone from the chairs and looked around for the voice that woke her.
- Hello? - she asked as she kept looking around.
- What are you doing here? - she heard again but this time she noticed that someone was standing in the shadows of that dark room, she even saw someone peeping from the door. Her skin crawled as she pressed herself towards the wall and grabbed the blanket almost using it as a protection.
- who… are you? - Nebbia asked. The door opened and from it came out a woman, she was a bit tall and slim wearing a sleeping gown, her long black hair came down her sides, her eyes were also green but they shinned a bit in the dark almost like a cat when the light hit them and had a strange reflection in them, her skin was paler than Frost's.
- You haven’t answered me… who are you and what are you doing here?? - she asked demanding, her voice a bit dry as if she was whispering but loudly.
- I’m Nebbia… Frost found me in the forest… I don’t know what I am doing here Ma'am… - she answered scared in a jittery voice as she got closer to Nebbia. She stood in front of her as she looked at her menacingly.
- I want you out of my home and away from him… - she said – Are you taking him away from me??? - she screeched as she jumped to her holding tightly from her shoulders, she felt even her fingers dig deep in her skin.
-AHH You… you’re hurting me!! - Nebbia said as she tried to push her away feeling the stinging pain in her arms.
- Listen to me… he is mine, and only mine… and no little stupid girl is going to take him away from me!!!- as she spoke her voice deformed almost like a banshee, her screech was unbearable and hurt her head even, Nebbia by instinct kicked hard and even scratched her face making her to let her go and scream in pain. Nebbia was shaking in fear as the woman suddenly turned almost twitching her face deforming into almost like a demonic being, her eyes glowing green and her skin turning gray and decayed, she noticed her arms were black almost like a corpse. As she screeched she threw herself to her and Nebbia screamed in terror…
She then woke up screaming in horror panting and sweating as she looked around the empty room, she turned to the dark room and noticed the door was slightly open.
- What the fuck was that…??? - she said as her heart raced and curled herself in the corner of the bed not letting her attention away from that dark room.
***
After some time the front door opened, Frost came in looking and noticed Nebbia curled in the corner holding her blanket, she was visibly shaken, Fang sat on the side of the bed looking at the bedroom door almost with a watchful eye.
- Are you alright?- Frost asked as he came in quickly, Nebbia turned to him.
- are you real…? - she asked as she was almost pale in shock. Frost grabbed her noticing she was shaking.
- What happened? - he asked as she started to cry as she curled in her corner.
- It’s still happening, isn’t it? - his mother asked as she walked into the cabin while holding a big bag in her arms.
***
- My name is Pris, I’m Frost’s mother – she said as she checked on Nebbia, she noticed the marks on her arms and shoulders, she inspected them but seemed like only some bruisings, she gently covered them with her shirt. Nebbia sat still in the chair a bit shaken by what just happened to her, her mind lingering in the strange world she ended up being stuck.
- I’m Nebbia… - she said. Pris put the blanket over her shoulders covering her up.
- You seemed fine my dear, those bruises look just to be nothing too serious just let them heal slowly, good thing there are no real cuts or anything of the sort. She seems fine besides the fact that… she is here – Pris said as she looked at Frost.
- What can we do then? - Frost asked as he stood beside Nebbia. Pris stood up and looked at him.
- We need to address it with the elders, I am not sure what to do about this… I can go and talk to them and tomorrow, if everything works out, we can take her and talk to them in person. - Pris looked at her and reassured her as she passed her hand over her shoulder – they may have a better idea of what needs to be done, so don’t worry about it… at least for now count your blessings. I’m happy that Frost found you, it would have been a much worse situation if you were up there by yourself… count yourself lucky my dear – her voice gave her some hope and also she was very reassuring towards her, Nebbia just smiled a bit at her.
- Thank you so much – she responded to the kind woman.
- I think I need to get back, need to speak with Ram about this as well… he can arrange the meeting – she said as she looked at Frost.
- Very well – he answered.
- But… can I have a word with you? - Pris adjusted her shawl as she started to walk outside, Frost followed her closely as he closed the front door behind him. Pris adjusted herself a bit more as she walked slowly down the steps of his home and looked back at him, her eyes were full of concern, Frost knew what she was about to say but he just let her speak.
- It’s still happening, isn’t it? - she asked. Frost avoided eye contact with her and lingered his sight towards the door behind him. Pris sighed and as expected she was not going to receive a clear answer. – We told you… that if you ever needed help, we were here for you my dear… I don’t like that you are suffering like this all by yourself in this ...- she looked at the cabin and there was a bit of repulsion in her face.
- It’s my home… - he said – It’s… the only thing I have from my home… -
- But look at yourself! You look dreadful, tired… you don’t take care of yourself! Are you eating?? Are you even sleeping? Don’t tell me you are because your eyes tell me otherwise! - her tone was of a concerned mother for her child, seeing him in this state was crushing her, almost like looking for a way to bring him back closer to home, but deep inside she knew this was not going to be an option... at least not for her.
- I’m fine… - he answers as usual avoiding eye contact with her. Pris sighed in frustration and walked towards him, as she stood in front of him she looked at him and gently caressed his cheek.
- Just… be careful, and whatever happens… come back home at least … appease your old mother – she said smiling a bit bitterly at him. Frost smiled at her and held her hand.
- Alright, we will be there tomorrow… - he said to her.
- Good boy, take care of her at least… she seems… very lost – she said as she started to walk downhill.
Frost watched as his mother walked away, he forgot that he was always welcomed at his old home, at least by his mother, she always made it very clear every time she saw him, maybe the reason why he did not show up in that place that often trying to avoid the pity that he felt in some moments. He stood there for a while looking at her mother disappear almost in the thick of the forest line, trying hard to keep his mind at ease before he got into the cabin once more, it was a lot to unpack and for an instant, he remembered he had actually company back in his place, the stranger that showed up, the stranger... that ease his body and mind. He didn't want to mention any of it to her, it was weird for him he could only imagine how it would be for her...
As he finally got the courage to walk back in he found Nebbia sitting in the bed checking the clothes that Pris brought her, she felt the fabric under her fingers and looked at the thick knit outfits.
- Thank you for this – Nebbia said to him as he came in.
- It’s the least I can do, you do need some actual clothes for this weather and the ones you had on are not going to protect you. - He walked towards the bed but as he did he grabbed one of his chairs putting it close to her, he sat back looking at her fixated on the new garments she had, she looked like she wanted to really focus on something else... whatever happened earlier it did rattle her deep - What happened earlier? - he asked, Nebbia looked at him a bit surprised, she focused still her attention back on the fabric almost like finding some comfort.
- I guess it was a nightmare… or I sure hope it was – she said as she passed her hands over her arm. - Is that why you didn’t want me to sleep in that room? - she asked as she turned to the door behind them. As she looked she remembered the lingering green eyes looking at her from the darkness.
- No, I just thought it was best if we… stayed in the same room, just to check on you – he admitted - not to be rude, but you are a stranger in my home… I didn’t think you were going to do anything is… just precaution -
- I figured, but… that doesn’t answer what that thing was though… - she said still with her eyes set on the dark bedroom.
- I've been trying to figure that out myself – Frost stood up and started to grab some things from a covert. He pulled some vegetables and other things around, spices, and a pot. - For now, I’ll make some soup for us, I got some other things for later, you need to get something to eat. I imagine you are a bit hungry- he said as he started to arrange the vegetables on the table.- or if you prefer a bath?- Nebbia turned to him a bit surprised...
- Bath? Do you have one here? - she asked a bit perplexed. He left his things on the table as he walked into that dreary room, he pointed to her inside. Nebbia curious stood up and walked to him, as she got closer still a bit cautious she got closer to him, he walked inside and walked to the other door inside of the bedroom, the one she noticed the day before that didn't seem to go anywhere special. As he opened the room had a strange glow almost emanating from the water, there was a tub built in made of stone and wood, she could hear the water drip and the water seemed even warm almost like the hot tubs back at home.
- Oh, wouldn't have guessed this was here – she said as she felt the warmth and humidity.
- please, take your time, you can put some of the things she brought to you. It’ll relax you… at least it does that for me. I'll give you some privacy, please... take as much time as you need – he said as he walked out of the room. Nebbia stood there and put her hand in the water, it felt nice and warm indeed and she couldn’t refuse a bath.
Nebbia walked out grabbed the clothes she brought and arranged them on the bed. She looked at Frost before she closed the door behind her she peeked at him as he took his heavy coat and hung it on a coat hanger, he lifted his sleeves and started to cut the vegetables focusing on the meal. Nebbia undressed and made her way into the bath… she still felt like she needed to look behind her shoulders but for some reason as she let herself inside the warm water that feeling of fear just dissolved into it, she even let a soft sigh of relief as she felt the water cover her.
“oh this is so nice… wish I had this back at home,” she thought to herself as she wet her hair in the warm water. She sat there for a moment as she looked at the bruises of her arms and legs, she never thought she be sitting in a place like this, or more likely… in a world like this. She felt a lot of curiosity about this place and him also, for some reason she was not faced by his look anymore… at first definitely it was a shock but now she only saw him as… well… “Frost”.
“I am feeling too familiar in this place, too quickly…” she thought as she rested her head on the edge of the tub and looked at the ceiling with the cold drips of water falling on her face.
- that’s so refreshing… I could live here – she whispered as a slight smile drew on her lips.
After some moments she finally felt it was enough of the bath. He was not lying about relaxing in that tub, it was almost magical even. As she dried herself she noticed how refreshed she felt and funny enough she remembered that last shower she had back home, how she wanted to have a warm bath "Probably won't be as good as this one" she thought as she started to dress in her new sleeping gown. She felt the soft fabric hugging into her skin, it was warm but light she was really intrigued by the way clothes were made in this world. She finally walked back into the main room, Frost was setting the table he was a bit surprised to see her back, and he did notice a different glow as she walked out of the room with a light smile on her face.
- you were right… that bath helped – she said smiling at him.
- Happy to hear that - he said as he pulled a chair for her, she was a bit embarrassed but she walked to him slowly as he guided her to sit at the dinner table. - Hope it’s good – he said as he sat on the other side.
They quietly sat and ate, Nebbia did not express it but it was the best soup she had in years, it was nice and she was indeed hungry, but with this at least for the time being she was plenty and full. Frost started to clean up after they finished the meal, he seemed a bit in his thoughts. There wasn't much to talk about, and for the moment, they both seemed a bit reserved. After some moments, Nebbia remembered her bag. The little backpack purse she had with her when she came into this world. Without saying anything she stood up and walked back into the other room, it still sat over the chair where she placed it the night before. As she picked it up she walked back to the main room.
- Is everything alright? - he asked as he saw her walk back slowly putting her attention on the purse in her hands as she slowly sat back at the table and left the purse over it. In her mind she thought that maybe her phone was in there and maybe she had some sort of signal… but after taking everything out from it she realized it probably was still sitting in some road back at home. It was a childish hope for her, but it was one that soon crumbled in front of her. Frost looked at her as she was a bit frustrated as she dug in her belongings, it was all stupid little things, make-up, a little notebook and a couple of pens, and her little wallet that had her cards and id’s.
- Well all this is great… at least they won’t steal my things I guess – she said as she pulled her keys even from her home that jingled with her charms.
- Is it important things? - he asked as he kept cleaning up.
- At home, maybe… but it’s irrelevant – she said as she grabbed her little notebook. She flipped its pages, it was more of a sketchbook, the pages were a bit stuck from the water from the day after, and they still felt wet in a way. - I think this a bit ruined – she said heartbroken. Frost looked at the small notebook and reached for it, he smiled at her almost reassuring her. Nebbia gave it to him, and as he grabbed it he walked close to the fireplace and left it on the shelve over it, it was close but not enough to damage it more.
- It’ll dry up faster there – he said as he placed it gently.
- Thank you...- she smiled as she grabbed her bag and held it close to her. Frost sat back and crossed his arms as he stretched a bit.
- Are you feeling better? - he asked as her thoughts lingered a bit back home, she looked back at him with a crooked smile.
- Oh yeah, I am… I’m very thankful for your help. What your mom said is true though… I don’t know what would have happened if I had been by myself up there. I count myself lucky, indeed – her words were grateful, she realized quickly that if it wasn't for him she be in a far worse situation or maybe she would not see it though.
- Hopefully, some answers will come up tomorrow – he said as he tried to crack his neck and patted his shoulder.
- You ok? - she asked noticing his discomfort, he just shrugged not answering as he rotated his shoulder a bit, he looked a bit tense.
- It’ll pass, I’ll be fine –
Nebbia looked at the other room, she had been wondering things about it but she didn’t think it was on her right to ask anything about the motives of that room and if that nightmare was any indication… it was something she did not want to meddle with. Still, she was itching with dozens of questions about him and what was going on…
- Well, there is not much to do so… I’ll start – she suddenly said – My life back at home was not really… very eventful. I had a job… I worked in a little restaurant cafe and… not to sound presumptions but I did love working there because I made that place run like a clock.- she said as she curled herself again in the chair. - I… lived much like you, by myself – she looked around his place and smiled – maybe my home was a bit bigger but it’s pretty much the same thing. A little living room, a little kitchen, a bathroom, and my room...- she smiled. Frost looked at her, she seemed a bit nostalgic as her eyes lingered in the cabin.
- sounds nice – he said.
- I enjoyed my time by myself, maybe reading or drawing or whatever… I enjoyed the peace of my home – she turned her attention to him – but I was very alone at times… even when I liked being by myself there were moments when I wanted to have someone by my side… it didn’t work well on that side of my life I guess – she smirked a bit. Frost sat silently listening to her, he was curious after all she seemed so different from what he was exposed to all his life, and deep in him he did want to hear about it. She fiddled with her fingers as she played with her fingernails – I had friends like I mentioned… but… they had their own life to live. I always felt like I was just a passer-by, a nobody that had anything meaningful in their story, I was just a secondary character… - she twisted a bit her lips almost like trying to avoid crying – but, well… here I am I guess, I suppose I wished enough for something meaningful to happen in my life and I end up … in this strange world – she bitterly expressed.
Frost did not say much he had his eyes locked on her hands as she nervously played with her fingers, almost noticing a strange tick in a way.
- before you ask… I don’t have a family that is worried about my disappearance – she admitted.
- what do you mean? - he asked bringing him back to his attention. She shrugged and chuckled a bit.
- well, my mom abandoned me when I was young and she never did tell me about much… what little I know is that she got pregnant and had me and wanted me very quick and far away from her. I did end up seeing her later in my life but she had her own family, or… more like her new family. -
Frost kept quiet, looking at how that affected her. Her demeanor changed, she seemed like she had hopes and dreams but the moment she explained her family situation a strange shadow just sat over her almost losing a bit of the shine she had.
- that’s pretty much all I can say about myself for the moment – she said as she cleaned a bit her eyes, it was clear she was tearing up a bit. - it’s weird to talk about it to… there was never a need for me to explain myself to anyone… most people knew me and I didn’t have to talk about it. It’s strange to talk about it again… - she chuckled a bit as turned her eyes to her hands – It sounds rather pathetic I know, almost it’s a self-pity. But like I said, most people I knew already had an idea of what happened… I … I don’t know why I brought that up, to be honest. Maybe because… I saw how your mother was with you, was a strange and crude reminder of what type of mom I had-
Frost looked at her and stood up for a moment, he opened the door of the front and looked back at her, just with his demeanor she understood to stand up and follow him. As Nebbia walked she grabbed the small blanket that was set on the bed and covered herself with it. As she took some steps outside he was standing with his arms crossed looking at the horizon, the sun was up maybe late afternoon, and the sun was getting down but with its rays it illuminated the top of the pine trees that covered the area, a light cold breeze made them move gently. It was the first time she saw this scenery, how beautiful it was even… she also noticed Fang sitting in the snow looking back at them, he did not have any desire of entering to that place after what happened.
- I know it’s a strange new world for you – he said breaking the silence – but it’s not so bad, there is more to it… at least whatever time you have here try and enjoy it. - Nebbia looked at him a bit confused but she understood that she should stop thinking and just take in what she was living at the moment. He looked down the road and turned to the east and he pointed to a set of mountains.
- If you see those mountains down there, beyond that is Autumn land – he said – way far south from there it’s Spring Land and if you feel adventurous in the desert there is Summer Land – he said. Nebbia looked at the mountains covered in snow, they seemed so far away and for some reason, it looked so magical. - tomorrow however we are heading west – he pointed to the other direction – that’s where the town is, that’s where my family lives, and where we will see the elders – he explained as he leaned in the pole next to the steps.
- Never thought that a place just painted in winter would look so pretty – she admitted as she looked at the surroundings.
- It can be brutal, but every place has its charm I imagine – they both stood there as they witnessed the sunset, she looked at the sky and how it quickly turned into different colors and the night sky.
- we should get inside, it’s going to be colder, I’ll make something warm – he said as he opened the door, Nebbia stood there looking at the night sky and how it started to sparkle with starts she never saw in her life, being in the city the night wouldn’t let her see much of anything but the darkness. - Nebbia?- he called her and she suddenly turned towards him.
- Oh, yeah sorry… - she said as she walked back inside, she smiled at him a bit as he followed her back inside and closed the door behind them.
The night was uneventful, Nebbia seemed a bit more level-headed compared to the day before, she was eating and that makes a big difference to a person. Frost on the other hand noticed that he was feeling himself pull through from the darkness, something that was making him wonder if it was because of her presence in that home, he tried not to fret a lot about the matter but there was a change in him that was very obvious… at least that's what he felt. Something she had just brought a bit of peace in his life… and he wondered what else would she bring him to now.
It started to get late. Frost started to arrange his spot in the chairs once more, as he did this Nebbia looked at him, she felt bad... she realized she was taking his space and he was not resting as he should, making her feel a lot more guilty, this was his home after all. She looked at the bed and started to make quick math, "I mean... we can both fit here, I can just squeeze myself into the corner and it will be fine... right???" She thought nervously, but overall... how would she ask him such a thing?
- hey Frost...?- she asked nervously, she was a bit shaky as she raised a bit her voice. He turned to her as he was pulling the chairs in position.
- yes? - he asked still moving around the room.
- You can sleep with me ...- she said. Frost froze for a moment and looked at her confused. She looked at him and realized maybe her words were wrong - LIKE, you can sleep BESIDE ME! - she said loudly - TH.. THERE IS ENOUGH SPACE!!- she said as she pointed to the area beside her. He looked at her and was still a bit confused. She sighed as she got in bed and slid enough towards the wall and looked at him.
-It's... ok - she said
Frost stood there and thought for a moment, he looked at the two chairs... the invitation sounded fair. He cleared his throat and walked towards the bed, he sat on the edge gently admitting he was a bit nervous to do so. As he took his boots off he glimpsed a bit of Nebbia that was already on the bed as she covered herself with the blanket, she seemed as nervous as him. He rested his back on the soft bed, he admitted he missed the feeling. He took a deep breath as they both just lay on the bed almost tensed up with their presence.
- Sorry for being weird - she said, she had the blanket over her face almost she looked blushed and tried to not make eye contact.
- It's alright - he said - It's just rather strange to have company in this place- he admitted.
- Same... it's been a bit - she admitted as well. - But... I felt bad that I was taking this space, and it's your home, after all, I thank you for it... but I still feel bad - she turned towards him as she lay on her side. As she looked at him he was looking at the ceiling of the cabin.
- It's the least I can offer - Frost turned slightly at her and smiled at her.
- We are also adults, I think we can share a bed without making it weird- she said as she smiled. - I think...-
- It is already weird, are you not seeing the situation? - he said - you fell from the sky from another world, it can't get stranger than this -
- funny - her tone was a bit sarcastic. He chuckled a bit at her, she felt different almost as if she was relaxed and more her true self. He lay on his side towards her. She looked at her as she smiled and adjusted herself on the bed.
- You seem better - he expressed, she looked at him a bit confused.
- I guess, I am trying to not lose my sanity in all this... but -
- But what? -
- I am scared... very scared... -
- It's natural, it's a new place, I imagine a very strange world... it's a natural reaction - he said in a very matter-of-fact way, there was no lie about that it was very much the truth. He looked at her hand that was held from the blanket, she seemed like she was shivering a bit, her mind was making her focus too much on what would happen next if she ever was going to be able to return home at some point. He gently reached for her and held it, she was a bit stunned by his action but, in that simple act, she did feel a bit of reassurance.
- Why are you so nice to me? - she asked as she held his hand back - You don't even know who I am... I am just a stranger... yet you still act so kindly to me - she asked him as his green eyes were locked on hers.
- I know what it feels like to be lost and alone - he admitted - It will all be alright - He lifted the blanket over her and adjusted himself in bed. - get some rest -
- Thank you - she said as she closed her eyes and tried to relax, she felt how he passed his hand over her shoulder as he turned back on his back, he took a deep breath and also closed his eyes. There was a comfortable silence in the room helping them to conceal some sleep.
